Show Geo. Haney Dies George E. Haney, 91, Willlts, Calif, and former Escalante resident, died Apiil 10th In a Wil-lits hospital of causes incident to age. He was born April 16, 1874 in Springfield, Kansas to William Drew and Martha Matilda Darnell Haney. On April 13, 1897 he married Lillian May Ramsdell in Mdntrosc, Colorado; the marriage was solemnized June 22, 1951. She died April 16, 1939 in Escalante. They were parents of eight children, four of whom are living. He pioneered in Utah from Colorado after, crossing the plains as a child of three in a covered wagon." He resided in southeastern Utah until 1952. He lived his later years with a son. Leo M. Ha'nev. In Willlts. and a nephew, Chester J. Haney In Sacramento, Calif. Mr. Haney was justice of peace in Monticello, Loa, and Escalante. He was a mechanic and retired povfer plant operator for Garkanq Power Co. Survivors: sons, Leslie Harold, Weaverville, Calif.; Leo-land Marian, ,Willlts, Calif.; Max Ramsdell, Hatch; daughter, Mrs. Lovell M. (Martha) Twitchell, Escalante; also a granddaughter, t Mrs. Rotas E. (Beth) Coleman, of Richfield, whom he raised; 23 grandchildren, 50 great "grandchildren; brothers, Leoland Drew and Roland Green, San Jose, Calif.; sister, Myra Gertrude Thompson, Sacramento, Calif. Funeral services will be held April 14th in,, the Escalante South ward chapel; burial will be in the Escalqnte cemetery. |
