Show State Speaker Stresses Importance Of GOP County State Convention Dels. At the Republican County Organization Convention, the State Executive Secretary Ray Townsend of Salt Lake talked on the importance of the county getting its full quota of delegates up to the State Organization Convention in May. Also discussed the new plan i for-finance drive for the" GOP. Of the 31 delegates elegible to vote at the Garfield County convention, 19 were present. They elected Bruce F. Parker of Panguitch to his 9th term as Secretary-Treasurer of the Garfield County Central Committee. Mrs. Leola Ott of Tropic was reelected to the of-fice of County Vice-Chairwom an for her second term. D. A. Tebbs did not wish to run a-gain for County Chairman. There were, four nominated to run for the position of County Chairman. James F. Yardley was the candidate, chosen to fill the position of Republican Chairman for Garfield .County, for the coming two years. ' The members to'goto' the1 State Convention elected as delegates were Mr. Yardley, Mrs. Ott, Dr. William L. Mason of Panguitch, Blake Robinson and Paul Steed, both of Escalante. The convention reelected D. A. Tebbs and his wife Nedra, and Garfield County delegates to the State Republican Central Committee. |
