Show William D. Hurst Appointed Deputy Regional Forester "A Deputy Regional Forester position will be established , in the Intennountain Region of the U.S. Forest Service on Feb. 18," according to Regional Forester Floyd Iverson. The headquarters for the In-termountain Region, which includes Utah, Nevada, south-. ern Idaho and western Wyoming, is in Ogden. This la the third position of this typo, that has been approved by the Secretary of Agriculture Orv-ille Freeman. The other two positions are in the Pacific Northwest and North Central Regions of the Forest Service. Mr. William D. Hurst will be promoted to the new position, he presently occupies the position of Assistant Regional Forester in charge of range management in the Ogden office and is widely known throughout the Inter-mountain West. Before coming to Ogden five years ago to assume his present position, .he- served as Assistant Chief of the Division of Range Management in the office of tho Chief of the Forest Service. Prior to that he occupied positions with the Forest .Service on several National Forests in the Intermountain Region. He has served as Range Examin- William D. Hurst er, Forest Hanger, National Forest Staff Assistant, Forest Supervisor, and at present, Assistant Regional Forester. He is a graduate of USU and a member of the Society of American Foresters, American Society of Range Management, and Ogden Chamberof Commerce. Mr. Hurst is the son of William M. and Katie Daly Hurst of Panguitch. |
