Show THE WOW) FHOM BOULDER BY ALICE ALVEY Along with the help of a few fire crackers our Indep-endanco celebration Saturday went over with a big bang. Tho rodeo was as good as usual, no one injured seriously fortunately. It seemed almost like "Home Coming Day" as dozens of people formerly of Boulder returned. Lafayette Alvey and wife Mary of Ariz, visited a few days with his brother Arthur. Gayle Alvey and family uf Murray spent the day, Sterling Alvey and Lorralno and Morrell Ormond of Colorado Springs are still here vith their parents, the Arthur Alveys and Ruby Ormond. Wallace Alvey and family of Loa were here also. Arnold Mann of Phoenix, Ar izona spent Saturday and Sunday with Cathleen Alvey. Gertrude Ormond had her son Farrell Moosman and his famlh from Annabella with her. .Stanley and Maxine Sawyer t-f Hatch and family were with her parents, the Maw Be-hunlns. The Cecil Grleners had son Kenny and wife for a few days. Sharon LeFevr came home from Bryce Canyon where she has employ, ment for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Bowcn and son Skip of Calif, are here sgain on their vacation. Bud Ormond visited at Gertrude's and Burns Orm-onds. Betty Lou Shaksspear from Trcplc Is at the home of (continued Inside) v" BOULDER (continued) uncle LeFalr Hall. Kay Lynn Shurtz Is visiting with cousins Janls and Cindy Peterson. Dean and Jerry Shurtz came for the weekend with their two boys from Page. Hcbcr and Ncta Poulson returned from their vacation in time for the celebration. Earl and Nethella Woolscy hurried home from Salt Lake on Saturday so they could be here too. We were a little dismayed that our nearest neighbors didn't support us u little better though. Anthony Coombs came from his job in Ariz. Richard and Marilyn Griffin spent a day in Richfield getting a few supplies which arc unobtainable in Boulder. Ruby Ormond spent a day there on business also. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hansen attended a Golden wedding anniversary in Wayne County Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Coleman and children and grandchildren went to Springville to a family reunion. A grandson Jimmy Perky was thrown from a horse a few days, ago and suffered a broken arm and cuts and bruises; a sad way to have a vacation turn out. Those black clouds I men-t;oned last week have finally burst. Every body is happy except men who have hay down waiting to be raked and baled. But then everybody can't be pleased all the time and I'm sure these men aro thankful anyway. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hall, parents of LeFalr visited a day or two.. Also here for a while are Dorothy Lyman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nettlcship of Salt Lake. Rose Dcnnlng's parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. J. King of San Bernardino, Calif, have been visiting her several days. |
