Show NATIONAL FOREST TIMBER FOR SALE Sealed bids will be received by the Forest Supervisor, or his authorized representative, In the office of the Forest Supervisor, Cedar City, Utah up to and not later than 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 11, 1960, for all live and recently dead (sound sapwood) and older dead (unsound sap-wood) timber marked or designated for cutting on an area of approximately 2400 acres in the Panguitch Lake Drainage, Township 37 South, Range 7 and 8 West, Salt Lake Base Meridian, Dixie National Forest, estimated to contain live and recpnM" dead (sound sapwood) sawtimber as follows: 1,350 M ft. b.m. of ponderosa pine, 860 M ft. b.m. of Douglas fir, 80 M ft. b.m. of white fir, artd 50 M ft. b.m. of Englemann spruce, more or less. In addition there is within the sale area an unestimated volume of merchantable older dead (unsound sapwood) saw-timber of all species which will be paid for at $1.00 per M ft b.m. The minimum acceptable bid per M ft. b.m. for live and recently dead (sound sap-wood) timber Is: For ponderosa pine logs $20.95 which Includes a base rate of $4.15, plus an additional $15.35 for stumpage and $1.45 for slash disposal; for Douglas fir logs $8.20 which includes a base rate of $4.15 plus an additional $2.60 for stumpage and $1.45 for slash disposal; for white fir logs $7.75 which includes a base rate of $4.15, plus an additional $2.15 for stumpage and $1.45 for slash disposal; for Englemann spruce $6.05 which Includes a base rate of $4.15 for stumpagc, plus an additional $0.45 for stumpagc and $1.45 for slash disposal. The term "stumpage"' Includes deposit for sale area betterment. The prices bid for stumpage for live and recently dead (sound sapwood) timber shall be considered as tentative j rates which shall be reduced pr increased by 0.5 of the dif- I fcrence between the Western Pine Association Index prices for the period October 1, 1959, .to December 30, 1959, and j tho average of the Western Pine Association Index prices i as calculated by the Forest j Service at the end of each calendar quarter. In no ev- ent however, shall the ad- i justed rates for each quarter ; be less than the base rates stated above. A certified check, cashier's : check, bank draft, or money : order, payable to the Forest ; Service, USDA, in the amount : ' of $2,400.00 must accompany each bid to be applied on the : purchase price, refunded or ; retained In whole or in part as actual or liquidated dam-ages according to the provis- : Jons of the bid. The right to reject any and all bids is reserved. Before bids arc submitted, full information concerning the timber, the conditions of the sale and submission of bids should be obtained from the District Ranger, Panguitch, Utah, or the Forest Supervisor, Cedar City, Utah.
