Show Open House To Honor John Crosby On 80th Birthday Mr. John S. Crosby will bo honored on the occasion of hl3 80th birthday with an open house held at the home of son Jay Crosby In Pan-guitch on Sunday, April 10. Mr. Crosby was born April 11. 1880 at BunkerviHe, Ncv-ada, son of Samuel and Han-ftah Adelia Crosby. The family moved to Panguitch when he was a youngster. He attended Panguitch Schools, graduated from the old Murdock Academy at Bea. ver, and received a teaching certificate from BYU. He taught school in Panguitch for many years, retiring when he was 70. In some cases he taught three generations of the same family. Mr. Crosby married Mary A. Owens in the Manti Tern-pie on Nov. 4, 1908. She died in February of 1954. They had nine children of whom eight boys are still living: Si las, Jay, Dee, Ellis, Arthur Thomas, Theron and Gordon. John S. Crosby On Jan. 14, 1959, Mr. Crosby married Louise Poe at the St. George Temple. |
