Show THE WORD FROM BOULDER , BY NETHELLA GRIFFIN Important' hews Items like whose relatives came avislt-lng and wbq went beyond the mountain for; dental appointments seem to be in short supply this week, so I'll just have to, tell about the wonderful new hay baler that Larry Coombs is operating on our place that tied up bales so fast all day Saturday that even Cecil seemed 'satisfied, for the first time, that .1 remember, to tako a Sunday off right in the middle" "c the haying job. The new machine Is also -said to be able to pick up hay that hs dried a little ton long. This point will be determined on Monday. Note: (I am not trying to sell hay balers.) Oh yes, I might mention the jeep and trailer upset (wish I had a picture) that occurred the other day on tt canal hill just north of my place. Some people, from Cedar City, I heard, had brought a" trailer-load of potilfled wood out of Circle Cliffs. When they started down the stp hill, tta trailer began switching luck aurl forth and was 19 Iteavily loaded that it 4 threw Itself into the deep wash at "the sido of the road and dragged .the jeep in with it, both vehicles being upset We saw them from a distance as they struggled to get things re-assembled and then as somo of them waited long hours in the boiling sun while repairs were made. We didn't feel too sorry for them because, after all, they had no business stealing the petrified wood. We'll be glad if the long arm of the stato ever catches up with such rock grabbers. One important item is the 'improvement of the Boulder-G rover road. Cliff Mangum end his crew have at last got their rocb digger working on the rough section near Spruce Springs bo that befoie many days we should be. able to travel the road without hazard to oil pans and gas tanks. Eddie -Mitchell's crew are hauling dirt and shale on another section at this end of tho road. . When the recapping project that Mr. Mangum said was . plained for this sumcris com- (continued Inside) BOULDER (continued from front page) plated, tourists should not have many complaints about the road, except of course that it is not oiled. I must not forget to mention the organization of the Dandy Diners 4-H club with Anna Lee Hansen as president. Vice president is Cleta Moosman with Loraine Baker secretary and Sandra Lyman reporter. Leaders in this cooking club are Ann Coombs and Deloris Hansen. Other members are Kathleen Alvey, Gladys Lyman and Twila Be-hunin. Donald Moosman returned to his army duties at Ft. Truman left Saturday with the other children to fetch their mother home again Mrs. Elaine Bailey of Murray visited with her sister Re-non Peterson and brother Dean Shurtz and their fami- lies. She left her two daughters Carol Lee and Loraine for a two-week stay with tha Petersons. Their daughter who has been ill so long was with them., Bur-nell and the other children rriet them at Fish Lake Sunday afternoon and brought Clea home.
