Show Exchange Student From Italy Visits Farms In Panguitch Area ; COUNTY AGENTS NOTES' By Harold Lindsay We aro fortunate again this tycar to have an International Farm Youth, Exchange. IYFE, ' 'in our county. Gainfranco Sol-(datl from .Italy is visiting with .the M. V. Hatch family while in Garfield County. t Frank, as we call him, ar-, rived in the United States the last week Jn June. The Hatch family is. his first host family In America. He met tho Hatch's in Salt Lake' on July' 7, and will remain with them until July ,26th, when ho will go to Wayno County to stay with .the Guy Pace family in Teasdale. Last Friday, Carl took him . to Glen Canyon Dam. He was amazed at tiie size of everything down there. The IFYE program works both ways, Our farm youth exchanges goes to foreign countries for about 6 months, and in exchange they come here from other . countries Tho United States have participated with 60 foreign countries. Through cooperation ,of this kind, it is felt better un-" derstanding can be developed which will help create peace 'and understanding. The program in Utah is sponsored by the Utah State University and the Extension Service. Tho Lions Clubs of Utah help finance our exchange students , for Utah. Wallace Hatch from Panguitch went" from Uta"K to Central America two years ago. |
