Show No More '49er All good things must end so we come to the end of the Panguitch Whoop and Holler time. This year there will be no '49sr Day, no Whoop and Holler publication. Decision to cancel the annual observance was reached at a recent meeting of the Panguitch Wildlife Federation. A Fisherman's dance will be held instead on June 4th with the annual Smoker being held on the evening of the 3rd. The Federation also deeded to give prizes for the biggest fish this year; $5 per month to be awarded each month from June through September and $15 going to tho biggest ccught all year. Another jtem of interest taken up at tho Federation meeting was the projected establishment of a Urd sanctuary. Purchase of . suitable land for protection of pheasants and other game birds is being .studied. Magpie Hunt A magpie hunt aimed at thinning put t numbers of tho feathered pests has been fet for May 2. Young marksmen who want to take part should assemble on the court house iawn at 9 a.m., when transportation to the target areas will be furnished. Bounties ( of 10c pir b'rd and 5c per egg will be paid. |
