Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Roland Porter took their granddaughter, Deloa, to" Richfield to meet her parents, the Kenneth Griffins from Provo'. Iona Barney went wlthi.them, she was going on to Salt Lake City ""to get 'acquainted wi'th'her i new grandson, born to her daughter, Joan., Mr. and Mrs. DewBerry and family from SaltLako City were here visiting relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. DeRay Porter made a business trip to Richfield; Arthur Mclhelly and Smith Alvey also went out there to a riding club meeting1, and brought back "two truck loads of hay. The-Freshmen' held their yearly "HOP" after the ball game; It was a "Sock Dance". Nolda Willis held a quilting last week; the qullters, were Nell Barker. Sariah Alvey-, ; 'Amanda Mitchell, Lizzie Porter, and Mildred Schow. Iven Willis made It home ok after attending a SCS School in Calif. Mr, and Mrs. James Mc-Inelly and, Twlla went out to Marysvale Saturday to the funeral of Allco Williams who id a sister to Mary R'. Mclnelly Blllle Davis and Al Foster made It back from Wisconsin In time for Al to become a daddy and Blllle n grandpa. Leda Mae (Mrs. Al Foster) cave birth to a baby girl. Feb. 10th. Four colored gentlemen put on a program here Saturday night In the high school gym, and a repeat performance Sunday night in the South Ward church. It was mostly quartet singing, one piano selection and several readings, very good entertainment In my opinion. The tvo wards here held their monthly Fast day services Sunday, Mrs. Verl Hardwick and Mrs. Lorti Rushton from up3tate are hero visiting their mother, Amanda Mitchell. Ellse Porter, daughters Ann and Kathy. and son Richard and hln family, Mr. and Mrs. Vardon Wool-sey, and Mr. and Mvb. Kelvin Thompson were visitors here over the weekend at tho Lloyd Alyey home. The annual Old Folks Party was' held here Friday as scheduled; turkey dinner was served to 80 guests by a committee of six couples: the James Mc-Inellys, Stanley Haycocks, Grant Spencers, Vernon Stowes, John Normans, and tle Glover Smiths. Town news by Neta Shurtz (they said she blamed It onto mo) ; song by Laree Shurtz., They didn't have as big a crowd as expected; I think If they would call It "Activity for Amiable Adults" or something similar Instead of "Old Folks Party", they would get more people out.
