Show LEGIONAIRES HOLD BIRTHDAY PARTY By Jack Large, Jr. The American Legion of Panguitch, Post 25, held their annual birthday party and banquet at the Bryce Canyon Cafe on March 15, at 8:00 p.m. It was the Legion's 40th birthday. Jim Yardley organized thp event and W. Matt Houston was Master of Ceremonies. First on the program was Bill Bruhn, who sang "The Old Lamp Lighter", his accompanist was LaRfita Wor-then, who then played "Rus-tlcana" ajf "Stars and Stripes Forever"; after which Bill sang "All By Myself". Next was Jessie May Gibson with "Fascination" and "I Know What It Means To Be Lonesome". Mrs. Frank Richards sold a last ticket on a quilt which was won by Hilda Gardner. (The Auxiliary will use proceeds of this raffle to send girls to Girl's State). Then it was requested that Bill sing his comedy number "The Gal from Cedar City". Jim Yard-ley showed film strips called "Stars and Stripes on Display" and ,also some he had taken of, the 49er days of various years. There were 32 Legionaires present, all of whom seemed to enjoy themselves. |
