Show Copter Makes Emergency Landing On Mercy ; High t The. pilot' of a helicopter which had flown from Hanks-ville airport to Paradox Valley to rescue an elderly man who had suffered a paralytic stroke became lost in the wind and storm Saturday night and made a forced landing in Boulder. Victim of the stroke was James Pace, for many years proprietor of a cafe, in Tor-rey. After the landing in Boulder, Mr. Pace was rushed to the Panguitch hospital by E. H. Coombs. The pilot, who preferred to remain unentitled, -,mada.,ai.. safe landing in Clyde King's pasture, with no injuries to himself, his .passenger, or his machine. He confessed, thoug4 that his nerves were badly 6haken after a two hour battle against storm and wind so turbulent that he could not hold his 'copter on course either vertical or horizontal. When he saw the lights In Bpulder, he landed, knowing that his gas was almost exhausted. After refueling, he spent the night at King's motel Tefore returning to his base. |
