Show Services For Nina Alvey Many tributes and floral offerings were paid to Mrs. Nina Pollock Alvey at the funeral services held for her in the Tropic Ward Chapel July 26. The building was (Hied to capacity with people who had come to pay their last respects to their beloved friend and neighbor who had spent her life In dotng good and giving encouragement and sympathy to those who were In need or It. High tributes were paid to the life and achievements of Mrs. Alvey by President A. L. Elmer, Bishop Bernard A Johnson and Bishop Malen Mecham. The following services, under the direction of Bishop Malen A. Mecham, were presented; Violin prelude, Verlan J. Bralthwalte, accompanied by Annie Oolvln; solo, "Beyond The Sunset", under direction of Mrs. Dean LeFevre; Invocation, President Vernon Holman; duet, "In The Garden". Malen and Viva Mecham; Talk, President A. L. Elmer; song, "Lay My Head Beneath A Rose". Veda and Verda Mitchell; Talk, Bishop Bernard A, Johnson; Closing remarks. Bishop Malen Mecham; trio, "Oolng Home", Leona Stewart. Marian (Shakespeare, June Shakespeare; Benediction, W. H. Mangum; Violin Postlude, Verlan Bralthwalte. The grave was dedicated by Glen Campbell. Pall bearers were Ban and Afton Pollock, Jack Chyn-oweth. Dean Wlntch. Mazel Alvey, Vernon Peterson. Mrs. Ella Adair was In charge or the flowers, assisted by members of the FIIA.. Mrs. Nina Alvey, 35, passed away at the home of her father In Tropic July 23, following a lingering Illness. She was born Sept. 20, 1917 In Cannonrille, a daughter of Samuel and Emily Davis Pollock and spent hr ear- ly life In Cannnovllie and Tropic, having attended the schools In Tropic and graduating from the Tropic High School where she was an active participant In atf school activities. On Oct. 18, 1 936 she was married to -Royal Alvey In Cannon-vllle. The marriage was solemnized May 27. 1937 lu the St. George Temple. Mrs. Alvey was very active In church and civic organizations. At the time of her death she was Chapter Mother for the Tropic FIIA, a position she had held since the organisation of the chapter five years ago. She was also an active member of the Tropic Better Homes Group; she served as president of the Tropic Primary, and at the time she first took HI she was president or the YLMIA. She was also an active Relief Society worker and block teacher, and had been active supervisor of the Tropic School lunch for the past nine years and was commended for her low cost nutritious meal by the State; she also worked In the PTA at Its organization. Surviving are her husband, son Kenneth, daughters, Oayla Jean and Afton Anaette. Tropic, her parent or Tropic; following bro-tehrs and sisters: Herman, Afton and Ran Pollock, Tropic, La-molne Pollock, of the armed ser-vice at Camp Kilmer, N.
