Show Water Scarce - Conservation , ToiBe Enforced The Mayor this week Issued a proclamation regulating sprinkling regulations for Pangultch City. This action came after a serious water shortage developed In, the municipal system. Intake from springs was recorded to be 450 gallons per minute. The low last year was S00 gallons per minute. An Intake flow ot 25 gallons per minute has been recorded in the 'past. City officials took action last week and v telephoned every, 'householder in the community requesting that .all sprinkling ' be restricted until further notice. Mayor .Bruhn pointed out that the present proclamation may have to be altered at a later date If the spring flow did not increase. The success of the present regulation will depend upon the cooperation which citizens give the city water department. Strict law enforcement is promised. If the spring flow does not Increase, and if, co-operation of all water users is not given, It may he necessary to ' restrict water usage strictly for culinary usage. The City CouncU's Water Works committee this week retained Mr. Norman Hill to conduct a survey of the system, in order to Justify the installation of water meters. Money is available to the Council for the installation of such meters provided the City can Justify their expense to the bonding house. |
