Show t Pioneer Honored On His 84th Birthday Relatlves and friends called on D. L. Heywood on April 13 to wish him "happy birthday" for his 84 th birthday. Mr, and Mrs. Thomas Judd of Delta brought a large birthday cake for the occasion. Mr. Heywood was born April 13, 1871 at New Harmony and came to Pangultch In March 1872. He recalls when they hauled their water from the creek, then from the ditches. Many attempts were made to get an adequate water system In the town. He was on the city council and helped to. buy the pipe for the water system In 1922. He alawys respects the rules and regulations regarding the use of city water as he knows from experience ;,what plenty of water means to a community and the proper use of It. He and his wife have been married for 61 years and have had ten children, nine of whom ' are living. They are: Leland Heywood. Cedar City; Mrs. Jean Gottfredson, Richfield; Mrs. Elizabeth Judd, Delta; Mrs. Winnie Hays, Tonopah, Nev.; David Heywood, Salt Lake; Benjamin HeywoodL.Mrs. Mary Cherrlng-ton, MrsDlanche Woodard, Mrs Kate Church, of Pangultch.
