ONE MAN ESCAPED. Explosion in Mine Resulted in Death of Eleven. Indiana, Pa. Ten Hungarians and ono American met death in a gas explosion ex-plosion Saturday in tho numerous slopes of the Furnace mlno of tho Jefferson & Clearfield Coal company. The explosion occurred In the heading head-ing where twelve men were working. Ono of these, Andrew .rnzcer, escaped es-caped by crawling a quarter of a mile, on his stomach to evade the noxious gases. One hundred nnd ten men working In tho samo stope escaped through other headings, although they were held back for ten hours by the black damp, until a rescue party reached them.
