Granfleld, first assistant postmaster genoral, for tho fiscal year ended June SO, 1909, made public Saturday in his annual report, the gross revenue of tho postal sorvlco reached the enormous enor-mous total ot $203,562,383, an Increaso of $12,083,720, or 6.31 por cent over the preceding year. Thoro wore 7,202 presidential postofflcos on July 1, l'JU9. Of this number 398 wore first class, an Increaso of 14; 1707 wero second class, an increase of 112, and 5,097 wero third class, an Increaso of 230. Tho total increaso in the numbor ot presidential offices was 350. There wore 1,444 postofflcos established dun Ing tho year, and 2.004 were discontinued, discon-tinued, leaving a total of 60,144 post-offices post-offices In operation on Juno 30, 1909.
