Editor Garland Globe, Dear.Bro: Ihavo done somo traveling lately, having been transferred twice m three weeks. Tho first change was from Liedon to Gouda, a city of about 20,000 people and boasts of having hav-ing tho largest candle factories in Europo, besides having many large cheese factories. Tho Eldors have labored in this city for two years and havo only succeeded in converting ono family, so tho branch was closed and I was transferred to Schiorndam, Sch-iorndam, coming here with my trunks, etc, Dec, 8th. This town has a population of 40,000 inhabitants in-habitants and is tho Whiskey town of Holland, there boing 200 distilleries hero. Five families fami-lies of good saints reside in this city ana a number are investigating investi-gating tho doctrines of Mormon-ism. Mormon-ism. A special Priesthood meeting of tho Eldors of tho conference was hold at Rotterdam Dec. 11. Reports from all tho branches were given. All tho Eldors aro feeling' fine and thoAvorkis progressing. pro-gressing. Two baptisms wore performed in Rotterdam recently re-cently and two souls joined tho church at tho Hague branch a fow days ago. I expect to havo tho privilego of baptizing two children at Gouda soon. Our mission presidontis Elder B. G. Thatcher, and all tho Eldors ttiiuk the world of him. Next Thursday evening a big musical will be hold in the Excelsior Ex-celsior hall at Rotterdam under the auspices of tho Rotterdam choir and Eldors. A fine treat is in store. You and tho saints of Garland aro cordially invited invit-ed to attend. Hoping this will find tho saints of the Garland ward in good health and spirits and that they will remember tho Eldors in thoir prayers, I will conclude by wishing all a happy now year. Now, inasmuch as I've boon away from homo for a year, perhaps somo of my friends would like to know of my whereabouts where-abouts and what I am doing. 1 am laboring in tho Arkansas conference and at tho presont time in tho city of Littlo Rock. The Eldors havo tried to get promition to qanvass Littlo Rook for the past ton or twolvo yoars.but woro unsuccessful until un-til last June, at which time we camo in and I have been here ovory since. Wo didn't havo a friend when wo camo hore, but through tho results of our labors we now havo a great many in vestigators and several places aro opon to us to hold eottago meetings in, with bright prospects pro-spects for moro.
