Show A Church In a Rock. In tho quaint old Gorman town ot Oberstoln an anclont church stands, built In tho great rock rising from tho river. Tho front of tho building Is of stono, but tho church Itself Is hollowed out of tho rock nnd penotrntes far Into Its heart. Tradition says that In tho fourteenth century tho count of Oberstoln, Ober-stoln, ono of tho old robber barons, fell deeply In lovo with n beautiful young lady, tho daughter of a neighboring knight. Ills brother also sought tho fair maiden's hand and tho two suitors had a violent qunrrol. Tho upshot was that tho count flung his hapless brother broth-er from tho top of his castlo wall high up tho precipitous cliff. Repenting Repent-ing of ills awful deed, tho count vowed that ho would build a church whero his brother's body first touched tho ground. Ho did bo, oxcnvatlng tho church In tho rock; nnd tradition goos on to say a miraculous spring of clear water sprang from tho crag as a token that heaven wub appeased.
