Show The 4th I Gloriously I Celebrated in Garland. Garland's celebration of tho fl nation's birthday July 4th began at 1 a. m. July 5th and closed at 1 p. m. July Cth. Evorybody was awakened in tho small hours of tho morning by big crackers, littlo craokors, largo guns, littlo guns and sons of guns. Tho Stars and Stripes ''- lloated from tho liberty pole, tho Sugar Factory and most all -M of tho business houses' and many of our residences wore lll gaily decorated with flags and bunting. East Garland's Mili- 'M tary Band rondored excellent music both at the band stand and the City ' Park and was a big feature in making tho col-ebration col-ebration a rousing success. At 10 a. m. a rousing and on-thusiastic on-thusiastic ball gamo botweeu ifl tho Junior 0 and tho business men was tho attraction at tho City Park. The business 'men ;fl worked hard to take the conceit ,.; out of the Juniors but wore 'iV badly "wholloped" to tho tune :fl of 12 to 5. A good-sized crowd witnessed the business men go fl down to defeat and tho band il played "What a Villianous 11 Worl I This Is." J.A.Morton- H son passed judgement and H.
