There was a special meeting of the Garland Commercial Club held In ItH rooms Saturday evening, .luly 14th, for tho purpose of taking up the mutter ot a celebration on July Slth. The matter of a celebration on tho tilth, was qullo thoroughly discussed and it was decided that a commlttco of three bo appointed ap-pointed by .tho chair to meet in a mass, meeting of tho people Sunday afternoon, July lfith, to decide as to whether or not they wished to have a celebration and would support the Club to that end, said committees to act with any committee that might bo chosen by tho proplo lu thu event that a celebration was decided upon. The committee appointed by the chair was: M. D. Kvans, Charles Kdwards aud Joseph Jccseu.
