Show Commercial Club Meeting. The regular monthly meeting of the Garland Commercial Club was held in its rooms on Monday night, August 0, 101)0, President Kvans was present and presided presid-ed over the meeting. Thcie being but very few member present, nbout thu only business transacted was the report by the assistant secretary as to the financial finan-cial standing of the club and a move to exelto more Interest In the member of the club. For a considerable time past there has been n decided tendency on tlm part of member to let their dues fall behind and to take no interest In the working of the organization, and an elfort is now being made to levlvo the tlii(:glug Interest of delinquent member. This matter was quite thoroughly discus-sed discus-sed and It wa ft n ally decided that the club meet iiispcel alscssiou Monday next, August Hith, to devise ways and means by which to put new life into thu organization organi-zation or disband, ami the president whs asked to write a letter to each member requesting that he attend said meeting If possible. The services of tho Garland Military Hand lire much desired in the big I'cnch Day calibration at Urlghnm City, Sept, 12th. A band contest Is also being arranged ar-ranged to take place 11 little later on. Owing to the Utah Sugar Co' campaign being on, it will be impossible for thu biinil boy to be present at both events. The contest is of much interest to the Hand and no doubt they will have to pass up the I'ench Day olTer In order to lie present at tho coutcst.
