Tho dam will bo In sight of tho threo states of Iown, Illinois and Missouri, tho legislatures of each stato having adopted resolutions approving the work and promising all possible assistance Tho ostlmnted cost of tho work will bo 6,000,000, which Is $100 per horso power on the minimum power pow-er capacity of GO.OOO horso power. Tho cost of supplying powor, Including all fixed charges, malntonnnco, oporatlon and all expenses, Is closoly estimated at eight dollars por horsepower-year, tho cost of stoam power In tho territory terri-tory within 200 miles now being from 40 to $G5 por horsopowor-yeur, with ?55 as a conservative average.
