Lost In tho woods for two days and two nights, without food or water, Mrs. Susan Stovor, of Livonia, this county. 72 years old, was found on a mountain top nlno miles from hor homo by n lumberman. Hor clothing wns torn from her body and her hands nnd foot woro bleeding from tho offorts sho had made to find hor way out. Mrs. Susan Stovor loft her home to go to a grovo to gathor chostnuts. Not returning by suppor tlmo search was instituted for hor, but without nvall. News that Orandmothor Stovor was lost In tho woods soon spread and 20 or moro mon, oqulppod with lanterns and armed with guns, took up tho trail through tho woods. At night tho search was kopt up and no traco of the nged woman found. Fifty or moro mon found tho trail whoro sho had gono through tho woods nnd followed It for four or llvo miles, when all traco was lost. Tho search was kopt up tho following night without with-out avail. I Tho next morning fully 150 pooplo started out to make a thorough search of tho mountains, which nro the wildest wild-est In this part ot tho state. Hor sons wero well-nigh distracted, whon about dark a man and woman appeared In a buggy who brought tho Joyful news that Grandmother Stovor had been found by a lumborman on top of tho fourth mountain, distant about nlno miles from her homo.
