Show SHOOTING TRA AT leo epsen fifteen year old son soil of mr and mrs airs george ipsen ot of willard was shot and instantly killed by his younger brother samuel twelve years old last evening at at the family home the shooting was accidental and the tragedy has plunged the entire community into mourning leo and samuel were going to enact a bandit scene after the pattern of 0 some they had beheld in moving pictures the elder boy stood before a mirror with an old revolver buckled to him and was engaged in attaching sonie some false whiskers to his face when the younger brother approached from behind with a shot gun which lie he raised and aimed at leo when samuel pulled the trigger the hammer clicked the lad then threw the magazine and pulled the trigger again there was a roar and leo fell backward with a gaping hole in his head lack back of the left ear car the younger brother who fired the shot was frantic with grief and as the members of 0 the family rushed into the room and beheld the tragedy they were all but stunned at what they saw leo had bad been killed instantly and as the terrible truth impressed itself upon samuel his big grief was pitiful between sobs the lad told of how bow the boys had planned a mock bandit scene and were joyful in the anticipation of being able to carry it out with some degree of reality by having possession of guns of 0 coarse the boy did not know the shot gun was loaded and it is stated that the revolver which leo had buckled on was an old one that was entirely out of commission the shot gun had been used by some other bo boi s for hunting and it had been left stand ing with a cartridge in the magazine the dead boy was born at paradise february ath 1906 and removed to willard with ills his parents four years ago he is survived by ills his parents C f brothers and 1 sister funeral services will be held at willard wednesday at 1 p in after which the body will he be taken to paradise where services will be held on thursday and take place |
