Show The great progress made in beet culture in Nebraska is shown by the statement that a fewr years ago three or four pounds of sugar to each one hundred pounds of beets was considered consid-ered a fair yield, but careful culture and selection of seed and beets in Germany Ger-many brought the average last year up to nearly fourteen pounds to the hundredweight. The sugar-beets raised in Nebraska were even richer in sugar than that. Experiments already tried show that beet culture can produce a net profit of from $30 to $40 to each acre of ground. |
