Show A gentleman well known in Provo, and who has unbounded faith in the resources of our surrounding country, brought to The DisrATCu a couple of buttons which he extracted from one of his prospects located within two miles of this city. One was the result of five pounds of ore tried with the cyandie process and proved to contain one ounce of gold and 1.52 ounces of silver. The other represented one-tenth of an ounce of ore. The button weighed twenty-five milligrams. In viewing the buttons through the microscope it was eeen that very much of the body of the buttons consisted of gold. The above sptcimens were not from selected rock, but taken promiscuously from the face of themine, showing that Provo is on the verge of opening one of the largest go'd mines in the West, for the known width of this rock is thirty feet, so far. The gentleman does not desire his name mentioned, but the facts herein stated are all true. |
