Show Schools Gunnison Civic Library's Annual Book Sale will be held again this year on the Fourth of July. It will be in the usual place on the south side of the park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The proceeds from this fund raiser will help finance the Summer Reading Program. The books will be sold for 25 cents each. Also, for your information, there are always books that can be purchased at the library all year long. The books that are for sale come from donations and from the weeding process that is going on at the library. The library board appreciates all those who donate, buy and help in making this such a good fund raiser. Another event that you will want to remember, especially if you have overdue books, is Amnesty Week. This will be held the week of July 10th through the 15th. Any books that need to be returned, no matter how long they have been out, may be brought back with no overdue fees being charged. The board is continuing to Page 5 The Gunnison Valley Gazette Thursday, June 22, 2006 The Scouting News! Library News work on the appearance of the library. When the old carpet was replaced and the 'bookshelves were rearranged, it became apparent that there were many different sizes and styles of shelves. One of the board's goals has been to have them all standardized. Within a few weeks the library will be getting the first set of new shelves. Not only will they help the library to look more attractive, but they will help to increase the space for more books, printed and audio, and also for the video collection. Another feature that has been implemented into the library are places to display books. At the end of each row there are new book displays. Marsha Lyman, one of SANPETE CHALLENGE 2 0 0 6 12TH ANNUAL VARSITY & VENTURER the volunteers, is regularly changing not only these displays, but the books that are showing along the shelves.
