Main 426-5726 798-9333 492-9333 The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) announces that Wednesday, March 3, construction crews will reconfigure traffic lanes on Spanish Fork's busy Main Street. This reconfiguration will close the southbound "free" right turn lane to Arrowhead Trail Drive permanently. This closure will allow for demolition of the bridge structure the turn lane cur- rently utilizes. Southbound traffic on Main Street desiring to turn right onto Arrowhead Trail Drive will be diverted to the signalized intersection a half-block south. Backing is possible, as lanes are narrowed in this area to accommodate construction activities. "During this construction project, crews will demolish and rebuild the bridge structure over Spanish Fork River," says Brian Phillips, UDOT Project Manager. "Once that work is complete new asphalt paving will be placed and traffic movements will be modified to allow two lanes in each direction through the project boundaries," he continued. Also note that the intersections at Volunteer Drive and Arrowhead Trail Drive will be modi- fied with double left-hand turn lanes to Main Street. Additional information is available by calling the project hotline at 1800-676-1284, or visit the website at udot.utah.gov. Construction schedules are subject to change at any time due to inclement weather conditions, equipment availability, supply problems or emergency situations. Veterans Memorial DONATION: Carol Berrett presented a check for $1,000 to Thad Jensen and Glen Bradford of the Veterans Council to help fund the new walls of the Veterans Memorial in the Spanish Fork Cemetery. Carol wrote: "They diligently make sure the veterans are honored and remembered by displaying a flag for each one on Memorial Day. They wait patiently in the hot sun or falling rain and snow to perform very impressive military rites at the grave of a veteran. They are a bunch of terrific men, and when I saw their need for additional walls, I wanted to help."
