The Branson Belle Show Stoppers were invited to instruct and perform at ALA as a fundraiser for a new microphone system for the ALA Fine Arts Department. They traveled all of the way from Branson, Mo., where they perform professionally in musical theatre on a renowned show boat, the Branson Belle. Monday morning they instructed students in a dance, a cappella singing and solo singing workshop. In the evening, ALA's musical theatre class opened the show. After them, the students performed their workshop pieces and were followed by an abridged version of the Show Stopper's Branson show, a tribute to all things Broadway. In addition to ticket proceeds, passes to Silver Dollar City and the Branson Belle were raffled off in a donation drawing and the Show Stoppers sold their CDs and ave a potion of the profits to ALA. The teachers, students, and administration at ALA expressed gratitude to the Branson Belle Show Stoppers for their selfless efforts. |
