In front Zach Preece and Katelyn Gappmayer. Not pictured, Ben Boyack. Brockbank presents Hansen Heroes Brockbank is happy to announce their Hansen Heroes for the month of November. From first grade is Katelyn Gappmayer from Mrs. Marcy Noorda's class. Mrs. Noorda says, "Katelyn is a great example to our class. She is very helpful and always on task. It is a joy to have her in class." Zach Preece is from Mrs. RaDawn Pack's second-grade class. Mrs. Pack says, "Zach is always trying his hardest to do his best at school. He obeys the rules, works hard, and is a friendto everyone." Third-grade Hansen Hero is Ben Boyack. Ben is in Mrs. Argyle and Mrs. Muirbrook's class. They say about Ben, "He is alway. happy and energetic. Ben is always on task and he does a great job in class. He is a good example to others." From fourth-grade is Katelynn Schaugaard. She is in Mrs. Erica Fordiani's class. Mrs. Fordiani says, "Katie is always the first to cheer for her fellow classmates when they are successful. Her positive attitude and bright smile are contageous. Katie is a great help in our class!" Courtesy photo STATES FAIR: The fifth-graders at Canyon Elementary held a "States Fair" on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009. Each student wrote a research paper about a specific state and brought an artifact representing that state. Parents and other students in the school were invited to attend and hear what each student had learned about his/her specific state. Pictured, left to right, are Kade Cope, Dillion Muribrook and Jake Jones. East Meadows From Mrs. Sally Nelson's fifth-grade class is Kylie Eichler. Mrs. Nelson says, "Kylie is kind and respectful in class. She helps clean up after projects and tries hard to use teamwork. We love having Kylie in our class!" Brayden Critchfield is the sixth-grade Hansen Hero. Brayden is in Mr. Ryan Murray's class.-Mr. Murray says, "Brayden is a great friend to all the students in class. He is always looking for ways to include everyone. He is always smiling and tries his best on all of his school assignments." Brockbank Courtesy photos GINGERBREAD HOUSES: The East Meadows second-graders got to dive in to the candy as they decorated their graham-cracker gingerbread houses. Students got creative with make-shift chimneys and trees. This is just one of the fun activities students get to participate in during this holiday season. Family members joined in on the effort to put together the edible houses. Pictured, are Max, Amy and Mia Colton. Courtesy photos CHRISTMAS CHEER: Brockbank third-grade students have been filling the halls of the school with cheery Christmas music. On December 10, the third-grade classes put on a Christmas program for the rest of the students and then that evening for their parents and families to enjoy. It is a great way to get in the Christmas spirit. The students did a great job! Pictured left to right, are Emily Lund, Aislyn Sharp, Melanie Park, Wyatt Swan (Santa), Rae'Lynn Wetzel and Chase Holt. WORD WISE: Brockbank third graders were thrilled to receive dictionaries donated by Central Bank this week. Glen Roach, pictured here with Mrs. Moon's third-grade class, is a part of the Spanish Fork Rotary Club who has a goal of placing a dictionary in the hands of every third grade student. Each student put his/her name in the dictionary and is encouraged to use it during classwork and also at home. Mr. Roach has sponsored Brockbank Elementary for several years and we appreciate his continued support of our students. Third graders look forward every year to his visit and the dictionaries he brings. DARE GRADUATION: On Wednesday, Dec. 9, East Meadows 5th graders became DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) graduates. Officer Ryan Farnworth welcomed family members as he commended the 5th graders for completing the 10-week educationaf training. Principal Dwight Liddiard expressed appreciation for the Spanish Fork Police Department and their commitment to the program. He emphasized that the "core of the program is in making good choices that will benefit them throughout their lives." As part of the program students sang songs, and received their graduation certificates. Outstanding DARE students recognized were Trevor Patey, Spencer Searcy, Karter Shaw and Tristen Hanks. Students recognized for outstanding DARE posters were Valentina Heyn, Terrah Sawka, Kannon Kint and Joshua Gee. Pictured, with Officer Farnworth are Halle Nyland and Jocelyn Garcia. |
