Spirit Bowl 2008 held at SFHS Greg Taylor SFHS At Spanish Fork High School each grade geared up for the 2008 Spirit Bowl. There has been a lot of talk amongst the classes about who was going to win the Spirit Bowl. The seniors were sure that they had it won. The juniors thought they were going to take the seniors by surprise and come out on top. The sophomores were enthusiastic but knew they didn't have much of a chance, and the teachers were playing the oldest and wisest card, saying that they had what it takes. The actual Spirit Bowl took place on November 25th as an assembly to see which class was the spirit champions. It con- sisted of small competitions like cup stack races, tug-a-war, crab soccer, and other relays. The competition tested strength, intelligence, quickness, and, of course, spirit. Each grade got up in the competition by participating in the canned food drive. Points were also given to grades based on how many cans their grade collected. These points were directly related to the Spirit Bowl and would help in winning the Bowl. The competition was a blast and like in years past was close to the finish. The Seniors came t)ut victorious, but they had stiff competition from the sophomores, juniors, and faculty. It definitely showed how much spirit Spanish Fork High School has. While there, the four team members, Tanner Holt, Larry McConnell, Preston McConnell, and Sharisa Nay, took a written exam and participated in role playing. The team was given a real life situation that had to do with management and business where they were to test their skills and knowledge of the art. Other than the actual competition, the SF DECA club team members got to walk around the Snow College Campus and get to know each other just a little bit better.
