Show 11 a publication of The Spanish Fork News Reinforcing the hometown feel Jen Allen STAFF WRITER When it comes to buying gas, many of us have a regular or favorite gas station. It is quite unusual to note that the two gas stations in town that tied for the "Best In Spanish Fork" award are both owned by the same man. Sheldon Gordon owns both SAG's Texaco and S&S Texaco. It is clear that his skills in management and customer service set his gas stations above the others in town. Joann O'Brien, one of Gordon's store managers, has worked at SAG's for the past 27 years and says her favorite part of her job is the customer service. She loves knowing that she contributes to the small town atmosphere by knowing her customers. Besides the fact that both gas stations are owned by the same man, it is an interesting aside that neither of the gas stations actually have a drive up window. It is because of the friendly service that customers receive on a regular basis that pushed SAG's and S&S to the top. Gordon takes pride in his establishments and can be seen picking up trash that lies around the building, chatting with .his customers and even occasionally offering a free cup of coffee. Although they can't control the price you pay at the pump, the customer service you receive makes it a little more bearable. This, and the hometown feeling that prevail clearly define these business as worthy of the award.
