The band members gathered every morning from 9-11:30 a.m. to learn and practice the basics of marching. . At the end of the summer, they will hold a fall band camp to get them ready for show season, during which they will play halftime shows for football games. Smith is optimistic about the upcoming year for the band. "The outlook is good. We'll be smaller than usual because of the split school. Also we have a slightly younger band,but we have a very solid group," he said.
