The program is an exciting six days that allows the varsity scouts who attend to challenge themselves in the five Areas of emphasis that are Varsity program. The area of emphasis includes: Personal Development, High Adventure, Special Programs and Events, Advancement, and Service. Personal Development: The Varsity Scouts will leam to value the individual talents of each scout to build and strengthen the team. The program manager of this area of emphasis will develop events that address the interests of every member of the team and allow team members or experts in the area to teach the team the importance of developing each life skill taught. The scout will learn to better plan camp fire programs and courts of honor. High Adventure: This is always a highlight of every scouts scouting experience. Hiking, cycling, camping, fishing, water sports, mountain man rendezvous, rappelling, and many more fun and exciting events. I do not believe there is a young man alive that will not enjoy at least one of these events. Special Programs and Events: These activities include: Cope courses, jamborals, Operation On Target, and any other special event. These are the crowning events that make all the training in the different areas of emphasis has prepared the scout to do. Advancement: The varsity scout program uses advancement in the same way as do the Boy Scouts. They are able to work on merit badges, or the skills necessary to earn the varsity letter and pins that may be worn on it. Service: An important part of every scout and citizen's life. The scouts have always encourages service as scout law says "to help other people at all times..." Every scout should participate in meaningful service on a regular basis whether it be camp construction projects, conservation projects, humanitarian projects, eagle projects, or helping your neighbor. No matter how complicated or simple the project. Varsity All-Stars will prepare the scout to plan it and carry out the project successfully. The varsity scouts also learn vision development, goal setting, planning, and team building skills. These skills will assist each team captain, and program manager to plan for and carry out each week's team activity. The activities will excite the scouts and increase their activity in the team. Each varsity scout will learn leadership skills that will help his team. He will become excited about the Varsity program, and enrich the lives of his fellow scouts. Each scout will learn to use the five areas of emphasis to plan each activity his team participates in. Each scout will be better prepared to serve. * The dates of the Varsity AllStars camp is June 23-28,2008, at the Beaver High Adventure Camp. |
