Show 16 The Best of Spanish Fork & Salem 2007 The Stone Drug Experience Pharmacy, customer service and a great burger all in one Christy Hardman STAFF WRITER Stone Drug won for best pharmacy and best customer service in town. Assistant pharmacist, Clyde Nielsen, said that it is their customer service that makes them the best pharmacy. According to Nielsen, they take care of their people. He called it "red carpet service." They've had the same employees working there for many years, and because their customers are loyal, repeat customers, the employees know their names, and treat them well. When it's needed, they'll even deliver prescriptions, and they'll do the leg work of calling doctors or insurance companies. As Nielsen said, they'll do whatever it takes to make the customers happy and fill their needs. The Stone Drug burger is in a class all by itself. A list of the toppings isn't enough — you have to experience it to really know why it's been considered a favorite burger around town. Maybe part of what gives it that distinctive taste is the fry sauce. Cortney Peterson, who has worked at the Stone Drug snack bar for two and a half years said that nobody makes fry sauce quite like they do. They use a combination of salad dressing, ketchup, and pickle juice. They mix bread crumbs and salt and pepper into the ground beef before they make up the patties, and they warm the buns on the grill while the meat cooks. But the real secret to the Stone Drug burger is the grill. It's been in there for "a hundred years," and is wellseasoned. It gives the burgers a great taste that is impossible to duplicate. The whole package makes for an all-around fantastic eating experience.
