The temptation is to unleash a powerful drive to take advantage of the elevated tee. This temptation led to difficulty for Bjorn unwilling putter. Opsahl who drove a ball firm- The conditions at the course were beautiful with the challenging tenth hole causing many loud expletives. The tenth is an extremely elevated tee with easily reach- ly into a sand trap. After this difficulty Mr. Opsahl played an extremely good round and ended up just out of the money with an 83. While not wishing to difficult rounds, it is impor- . tant to note two stand outs from the crowd who pursued the high score crown with abandon. David Charles Baker, dressed in foul weather gear that gave him a Paddington bear look, chased. down a difficult round of 140. While Mr. Baker felt that this would surely get him the big prize for high score, he had not .anticipated Max Gregoric’s impressive 166. This was quite possibly exceeded by Chris Rogers, who chose to be the rebel and brought only four of the PGA permitted fourteen clubs. As the paper went to press the highest score had not been decided. Lynn Biddulph handily won the overall women’s gross with a score of 85. Her next closest competitor was Piper Remington who shot a 93. For the men, Dennis Cahill (78) took top honors, but the competition was nippine at his heels. -<Peter Schorry placed second with 80. Titus Case of Alta Ski Lifts shot an 81 for third place. | The Calloway scores are listed in the adjoining tables; even though this form of money winning makes about as much sense to this newspaper as Pai Gow Poker. Congratulations to Rob Voye for destroying his competition in the luck component of this tournament with a winning 58 net score. Thanks to Rob Voye, Elfriede Shane and everyone else who contributed to make this a successful tournament. Lynn Biddulph and Dennis Cahill took the top honors at River Bend golf course on Monday April 17. place. Mr. Meltzer’s booming rere ted REAREe in an alternate universe. Over one hundred and twenty golfers\skiers descended on Riverbend GC in a sea of colorful nylon. This annual tournament is noted for the irreverent playing style and unrestrained hijinks of the would-be tournament golfers.
