Unsorted paper, cardboard, catalogues, phone books, plastics, and tin would be collected within the single container. An $11.95 monthly fee would be charged for the weekly service. For more information, or to sign up for the service, contact Emily Fuller at 801-6685332. High Speed Internet Connection Now Available to Valley Residents What is Highspeed Internet? According to Layne Christensen of Nordic Valley, Ogden Valley Wireless Highspeed Internet is an always on Internet connection now available locally at your home or business. The old, outdated phone line dial-up connection we use today in the Valley, limits the speed that data can travel. Typical dial-up data can travel across the copper wiring found in most area phone lines at speeds from about 9kbps to 28kbps. Christensen’s new business, Ogden Valley Wireless, has a connection range from 128kbps to 1000kbps. That’s about 30 times faster than dial-up, faster than DSL, cable, satellite, or any other type of internet access. What used to take several minutes or more to load or download, now takes only seconds. How does a wireless connection work? Your computer connects through an Ethernet cable to a small antenna/radio mounted at your location. That radio “talks” to another radio at the Ogden Valley Wireless Network Operations Center where LIBERTY POSSE cont. from page 1 Coca-Cola All Stars A rider from each age group of the Liberty Jr. Posse was chosen to represent the posse at parades, and to compete in the barrel racing at the Pioneer Days Rodeo on July 24. Each Coca-Cola rider received a horse blanket. This year’s Coca-Cola All Stars were Jessie Evans and Trever Hansen. Liberty Jr. Posse Royalty were Megan Bostwick, Queen; Sammi Sylvia, 1st Princess; Rachael Kilgore, 2nd Princess; Jon Weaver, All Round Cowboy; Thomas Evans, 1st Wrangler; and Cameron Steed, Cowpuncher. Posse organizers Marv and Madelyn Evans stated that they are proud of their group, and the effort of all the members. “A special thanks to Steve and Suzanne Weaver who provided and cooked hamburgers for the end of the season party. Also, thanks to Lyle and Maureen Savage who provided snow cones. We want to thank all the parents who made the time to get their kids to practices and to the Jamboree.” the connection is made to the World Wide Web. There are no phone lines or modems, and no more dialing for a connection. You’re always on and always connected. You can even connect all of your home computers or office network to the Internet at the same time using the single antenna/radio. What does Highspeed Internet cost? Christensen states that Ogden Valley Wireless offers a flexible range of plans to meet the needs and budget of any residential or business user. To help keep costs down, Ogden Valley Wireless retains ownership of the expensive radio equipment at your location. You only pay a one-time Internet access fee of $295, plus the cost of your monthly plan. “We can supply any other equipment that you need or want at our cost. Professional installation and computer upgrade or repair is available.” For more information, you can contact Ogden Valley Wireless at 745-9251 or go online at www.ovalley.net .
