Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell Headline First Annual TrouBeliever Festival at Snowbasin Concert promoter Live Nation and TrouBeliever Fest announced that Grammy award-winning artists Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell have signed on to headline the first annual event August 4 at Utah’s Snowbasin Resort. TrouBeliever fest will bring the intimacy fans expect in a songwriter-in-the-round performance to the festival stage. With roots steeped in Nashville’s songwriting tradition, hit makers and TrouBeliever Fest founders Monty Powell and Anna Wilson had a deep desire to create a festival where the songs themselves would be the stars. With a love for the mountains (where they enjoy spending downtime), the pair chose picturesque Snowbasin Resort as the backdrop for the first annual festival. Powell is a Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award nominee who is best known for penning chart-topping hits for Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw and Brooks & Dunn among others. She TROUBELIEVER cont. on page 8 Snowbasin Resort Offers Free MoviesWith on thethe Mountain specials will be available from 6:00 p.m. until success of last year, Snowbasin Resort is delighted to bring back the free Movie on the Mountain Series for seven Mondays throughout the summer with a new addition of the Kids Adventure Park operating. The Kids Adventure Park will open at 4:30 p.m. on Monday afternoons and stay open until the movie starts at dusk. Families can now come a little earlier and let the kids play in the adventure park prior to the movie. Snowbasin invites families to watch a free feature motion picture under the stars in the cool Wasatch Mountain air on Earl’s Lodge Lawn. Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy “dinner and a movie” in the great outdoors. Food and dinner the show starts at dusk. The menu will feature all the trappings of a theater experience with Snowbasin flair. After the movie begins, snacks and treats will be available until the film ends. Eccles Community Art Center Exhibits Artwork from This Year’s Plein Air Competition The Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson, Ogden, will exhibit paintings created “En Plein Air” June 1 thru June 30, 2018 in the Main Gallery. The seascapes of Ogden artist Jerry Hancock will be featured in the Carriage House Gallery during June. A reception in association with Ogden’s Art Stroll will be held Friday, June 1 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The ECAC Plein Air exhibit is competitive; open to regional artists, professionals and amateurs, interested in creating works outdoors, onsite, and not in a studio. The exhibit will include original works painted between May 22 and May 29, 2018 within the boundaries of Weber County. The Plein Air Competition boundaries were established for artists to capture the historic architecture of Ogden and explore with paint the natural beauty of Weber County. Patrons and art collectors are invited to view these freshly painted works or add one to their private collection. Monetary awards will be presented in both professional and amateur categories. Awards will be posted for the art stroll reception. The Eccles Community Art Center is pleased to be continuing the Plein Air Competition started by the Ogden Arts Festival. .
