Chris was born at home in Huntsville, Utah on September 3, 1926 to Danish parents Clara Larsen and James Partey Petersen. During his youth, he loved working with horses and herding sheep on Monte Cristo until he contracted Polio at the age of 16. During his recuperation, he was sent to Warm Springs, Georgia to the Roosevelt Rehabilitation Center. During his stay, Franklin D. Roosevelt visited on several occasions and had lunch with the patients. Chris was a jeweler and watchmaker by trade, and worked in Reno, Nevada for several years. He had incredible artistic talent and designed many silver and gold buckles. He later returned to Utah where he worked at Hill Air Force Base for a short time. He married Carol Lazenby Johanson in 1954. They celebrated their 60’” wedding anniversary in June. Together they had five children, to whom he taught the value of working hard and playing hard. He became one of the Obituaries Bill Higley - “The Story Teller” March 15, 1940 ~ July 15, 2014 Bill Higley passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 after a short battle with liver cancer. He was born March 15, 1940 to Ervin and Ada Higley in Bill Higley Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Weber High and Weber State University with a Bachelor’s degree in theater arts. He served an LDS mission to France. Bill taught drama at Weber High School and loved his students and making films. He was a great performer and loved to perform pantomimes, story-telling, play Santa, and being a clown. If it had to do with theater and performing, he was always center stage. He worked at the Bookshelf, the Children’s Tree grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Dustin Stone of Vernal, Utah, Blue (Lynsi) Stone of Francis, Utah, Shelly Gibson of Huntsville, Utah, Justin (Cassie) Gibson of Pavillion, Wyoming, and Tammy (Travis) Myer of Ely, Nevada; sister Sharon Southwick and brother Jim Willard; and 16 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Bud and Verena Willard; grandparents; and two brothers, Monty Willard and Scott Willard. A celebration of her life was held July 26, 2014 at the Georgi Residence, 4484 N. State Road 32 in Oakley, Utah. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed camping with his family, golfing with his friend Jimmey, growing roses, and traveling with his wife. He is survived by his wife, Marian, of Eden; three children, Randy Johnson (Vicki) of South Weber, Sheryl Gibson (Roy) of Roy, and Jeff Johnson (Lisa) of Pleasant View; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Darel Johnson of Brigham City; and one sister, Eloise Wheelwright of Scottsdale, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Karen Johnson, brother Dee Johnson, and one great-granddaughter Hailey Ann Barnes.
