Utah Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum Host Guest Performers Stampede! On August 1, during the First Friday Art Stroll, Stampede! will be the guest performing artists for the Utah Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum located in Union Station, 2501 Wall Avenue, Ogden, where they will play from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event is free to the public. Stampede! hails from Northern Utah, and are Western Music Association (WMA) performers. They are a multiple-award-winning Western music duo that brings good music, harmony, humor, and just down right good fun to the stage. The duo is made up of the husband and wife team of Steve Taylor on the upright bass, and Terri Taylor, dubbed “The Epiglottis Goddess,” on the guitar. Terri, a two-time award-winning yodeler and an award-winning singer/songwriter, has received numerous awards for her song writing over the years. STAMPEDE! has been voted by their peers and fans as one of the top five duo/groups in The Western Music Association since 2006. They have been performing since 2000 on stages across the country, and have opened for or shared the stage with major headliners such as Riders in The Sky, Roy Rogers Jr., The Sons of the Pioneers, Dan Seals, Rex Allen Jr., Belinda Gail, and Suzy Bogguss. They have also headlined in major shows in every state in the intermountain West and have been featured performers at the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, Heber City Cowboy Poetry Gathering, Silver Dollar City - Branson, Missouri, Spirit of the West Cowboy Gather, and the Autry Museum. Music at the Market! The Ogden Valley Open Market music program is in full swing, and we have added storytelling, poetry, and puppets to the stage! Our artists are getting more and more varied as more Ogden Valley musicians find out about our Open Community Stage. It is all about the fun and the camaraderie, as well as the visibility for all performing artists, getting more time on the stage and learning from everyone. Some of the young people on our stage are from Huntsville’s Waypoint Academy. These boys have been working so hard, not only on their produce and honey booth at the Market, but also on songs to perform for all of us on the Market Stage. These teenagers have put together music as solos and as small combos for the community’s enjoyment! Please come out and support them as they forge their way through their wonderful choices of music to entertain us while we eat pizza, cupcakes, and slushes every Thursday night. The Market’s stage is now being sponsored by the new Ogden Valley arts group Mountain Arts and Music, which will also have an art show booth on selected dates. Come by and say hello. Once again, if you are a performing artist and would like to be included on stage, please contact Ché Zuro at <che@checheche.com>We loveValley performers and would like to see you on stage!
