Huntsman Scholar student teams from Utah State University will present their work on Ogden Valley land use planning tools and the dark-sky initiative. These teams are in addition to those of the USU Charrette. There will also be a short presentation on the accreditation of North Fork Park as an International Dark-Sky Park. Choose to run or walk, this fun route will be filled with surprises and topped off with a delicious pancake breakfast at the end of the run. Participants can choose to run a full 5K, a 2.5K for kids (12 and under) and for the little ones, a free 100-foot kids dash. Union Grill will dish up breakfast & Grounds for Coffee will fill the coffee & cocoa cups. Bring the family, extra breakfasts are $7. $22 adults / $14 kids 12 and under. May 23: North Fork Park community star party with a stunning display, which will demonstrate why the park may well gain prestigious accreditation as an International Dark Sky Park (thru the International Dark-Sky Association—the respected global organization based in Tucson). May 26: Memorial Day May 30 – June 1: The 7th Annual Ogden Music Festival will be held May 30, 31, and June 1 at Weber County’s beautiful Fort Buenaventura. This year’s event features a line-up of outstanding artists from bluegrass, folk, and alt-country genres, including musical legend Alexander Escovedo, Grammy winning artists The Duhks, Grammy nominated Della Mae, and many others. Festival goers will also be able to enjoy free band workshops by main stage performers, Utah State Instrument Championships, and a variety of hands on activities for youth, such as Todd’s Musical Petting Zoo.
