Ogden Valley Arts (OVA) will present the first Annual Ogden Valley Heritage Festival on Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20 in Old Town Eden. OVA is now looking for community performers, artisans (working in all mediums), and volunteers who are interested in sharing their talent, energy, and time with the community of Ogden Valley. The Heritage Festival will highlight the history and diverse cultural and artistic heritage of Ogden Valley. Come be a part of a great adventure! Registration is not required. Senior Lunch Program—Wednesdays @ 12:00 p.m. - Senior lunches are served in the Community Room of the Ogden Valley Branch Library every Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $2.50 for seniors, and a $5.00 charge for patrons 59 and younger! Special activities such as Bingo, Wii Games, and Fitness Classes follow Senior Lunch Programs throughout the month. 2011 Children’s Summer Reading Program—June and July - Travel the globe with us through stories and activities! Pathways Hosts Step-It-Up Contest Get steppin’! Track your steps all summer long with your free pedometer. At the end of the summer, those with the most steps will be awarded some awesome prizes! The contest began June 6, 2011and ends September 16, 2011. Prizes will be awarded on September 24, 2011 at the Harvest Moon Festival. Weber Pathways is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to plan, promote, construct, and protect non-motorized trails and related open space in Weber County. Gallery 25 Highlights the Work of Artist Mac Stevenson Mac Stevenson will be the featured artist for the month of July at Gallery 25. He will be showing his new paintings at a reception during the First Friday Art Stroll on Friday July 1 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Utah native, Mac received his Bachelor’s Degree from Weber State University and his Masters of Fine Art from Brigham Young University. After a 30-year career in art education, he is now a full-time landscape painter. He paints in oil on linen or canvas. Mac has won many awards, including being chosen as “Teacher of the Year” in 1997 by Utah State University. He was also honored in 2002 by the University of Utah as one of the “Top 300 Artists” in Utah. In 2009, Mac received the Mayor’s Award for his outstanding contribution to the visual arts in the city of Ogden. Mac exhibits his work at Gallery 25, and at the “Celebration of Fine Art” in Scottsdale Arizona. His artwork can be found in private collections in 32 states, Mexico, Canada, England, and Germany. This exhibit will showcase paintings completed over the winter, as “Artist in Residence” at the Scottsdale show. Continuing artwork will also be on display by gallery members Lucile Chamberlin, Keith Dabb, Keith Dagley, Lauri Eskelson, Carol Fielding, Roberta Glidden, Darlene Hamblin, Phil Hopkins, Dan Ludwig, and Doug Wride.
