Show Volume XIX Issue IV The Ogden Valley news Page 7 May 15, 2011 Announcements Obituaries Helen Buhrley Helen Williams Moon Buhrley, 93, was joyously reunited with her husband Louis on April 22, 2011. Helen was born on April 29, 1917 in Cherry Creek, Idaho to Rachel and Verlorum Moon. She enjoyed her life on the farm with her 5 sisters and Helen Buhrley 1 brother. After graduating from Malad High School, she moved to Salt Lake and lived at the Beehive House while attending Henager Business College. After graduation, she worked at Ballard Motor Co. and the Singer Co. as a bookkeeper. It was during this time that she met and eventually married Louis E. Buhrley on July 1, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived a short time in Salt Lake and then moved to Huntsville where they spent the next 45 years providing an extraordinary haven for their seven children and forming many lasting, eternal friendships. Helen served faithfully in each of the auxiliaries of the church, including president of the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary. She and Lou were ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple until they were called to serve LaMont “Monty” Holmes Monty was born August 9, 1935, the second son of Orville and Leila Stanger Holmes. The family lived in Liberty, Utah when he was born, then shortly moved to Marriott where Monty grew up. He LaMont Holmes attended Weber County schools and graduated from Weber High School in 1953. He attended Weber College where he took classes in auto mechanics. He married LaRae Neville in 1954. They had three sons—Craig, Kevin, and Kerry. They later divorced. He married the second love of his life, Patricia Robin Satterlee, April 16, 1979. Monty enjoyed sports, automobiles, and nature. He loved racing anything that had a motor in it. He enjoyed going fishing with his Grandpa Stanger (and Dr. Wallace Budge). He especially enjoyed baseball. He played for Weber High and for the Weber County Farm Bureau League. He then began coaching, recruiting players from the high school teams and took them to a state championship. He also coached his sons little league teams. He learned to work hard along side of his dad trucking hay (he could drive the big truck and shift gears at a young age). He worked for Weber County Mosquito Abatement, and managed Super Sonic Car Wash. He enjoyed the auto industry and worked as a service manager for Ford and Chrysler. He also owned a Deceased Donna Mae Read, 82, died April 2, 2011. Robert “Robb” Q. eilers, 45, died April 18, 2011. Cornelia Klyn, 98, died April 20, 2011. Donald “Don” Lamar Rundquist, 89, died April 23, 2011. Zelma May Read Hancock, 97, died April 25, 2011. Keith W. McLane, 82, died April 25, 2011. a mission in Munich, Germany in 1985. Her crowning glory may have been the next 19 years as she took care of her husband after he became ill. Her love, patience, endurance, and optimism will long be remembered by her posterity. She will also be remembered for her sense of humor, charity, and faith, (and her cinnamon rolls!). Helen is survived by her four sons: Louis (Joan) Buhrley, Max (Lola) Buhrley, Roger Buhrley, and Ron (Karen) Buhrley; and 3 daughters, Kathy (Bob) Buswell, Lynne (Greg) Graves, and Julie (Kerry) Wahlen; 31 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren (with 7 more “pending”). She is also survived by her brother Verlin Moon and sister Ralene Nielsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters (Sybella Morris, Evelyn Beck, Celia Smith, and Taressa Moon), and a grandson. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Huntsville South Fork Ward, 277 S. 7400 E., Huntsville, Utah. Interment, Huntsville Town Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to an LDS charity of your choice. The family would like to express a special thanks to LaDawn, Katie, and the staff of Advocate Hospice for the wonderful care they provided and the staff at Emeritus Estates. They loved their little spot of seclusion on top of the mountain, but retire they did not. They started working at Young Living Herb Farm and managed it for many years. They made many improvements and turned it into a successful operation. They also travelled the Northwest showing their prized Rottweiler dogs, taking many awards. Monty, with the love and encouragement of his wife, fought with courage and perseverance the diagnosis and progress of ALS. He kept a positive attitude and never gave up. He was determined to live life to its fullest, and continued to pursue his goals. Due to his health and a desire to be closer to family, they moved to Plain City in 2003. Monty felt family was important. He loved his family and was thankful for them. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Monty is survived by his wife, Patricia; 3 sons, Craig LaMont (Janyc), Kevin David (Kay), and Kerry Douglas (Audrey); 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren with one on the way; 3 brothers, Sherman (Carolyn), Ronald (Dixie) and Reed (Brenda); and 2 sisters, Marilyn (Duane) Walters and Lois (Larry) Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery. He was born March 17, 1937 to Milton A. Haase and Violet Herbert Haase. He graduated from San Jacinto High School, in Houston, Texas, and the University of Houston, Craig Haase Houston, Texas. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha/Gamma Mu Chapter. Craig had two sons, George Herbert Haase and Bryan Craig Haase. On February 21, 1981 he married Laura Ann Piccola. He enjoyed football and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He was great at telling jokes and Zella Joy Harris Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Zella “Joy” Belliston Harris, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 22, 2011 after a heroic battle with cancer. She was born Zella Harris December 2, 1945 in Payson, Utah to Ronald Oscar and Caroline Naomi Topham Belliston. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1964 and received a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Weber State College in 1970 after studying one year at Brigham Young University. Joy was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served a faithful mission to the Uruquayan Mission from February 1967 to July 1969. Throughout her life, she held many ward positions, including serving with various Relief Society Presidencies, herself serving as President for five years. On September 25, 1970, she married Michael R. Harris in the Manti LDS Temple. She is the mother of six loving children and 14 grandchildren. Joy lived a life dedicated to the service of those around her as she was blessed with a special gift of compassion and love for others. She worked as a maternity nurse at McKayDee Hospital, a home care nurse for new Spanish speaking mothers, and a hospice nurse for Hospice for Utah. Through 40 years of as fun to be around. He is survived by his wife Laura; son Bryan, (Toni) and grandson Dylan Haase, Plano, TX.; grandson Aaron A. Haase, Houston, TX.; brother Stephson F. Haase, Houston, TX.; friend for life, Taft Moore, Grand Junction, CO.; in-laws Helen and Ferd Hebert, Lake Charles, LA.; and Mack, his Scottish Terrier. Craig was preceded in death by his son George H. Haase. Craig you were a wonderful person and I loved being around you. Take your good sense of humor to Heaven and have fun with God. Love, Laura. Throughout her life she organized caucus meetings and attended many political conventions as a delegate to fulfill this duty. Joy was equally dedicated to her family, and was a shining example of faith, hope, and unconditional love. She was always there for us, and she will be greatly missed. Joy is survived by her husband Michael R. Harris of Roy; children, Christopher Todd (Amanda) Harris of Eden; Wendy Joy (Steven) Johnstun of Ogden; Timothy Michael (Kristin) Harris of Syracuse; Kyle R. (Joni) Harris of Layton; Cami Marie (Torrey) Tolton of Clearfield; and Karalee Ann (Daniel) Kemp of Washington Terrace; siblings, 4 sisters and 2 brothers; and all 14 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family expresses tremendous gratitude to Hospice of Utah, with special appreciation to Debbie Gough and Belinda Adolfsen, who became part of our family. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Roy 10th Ward Chapel located at 5900 S. 3100 W. Roy, Utah with Bishop Wayne Burrell officiating.
