Show The Ogden Valley news Volume XIV Issue XXII Page 7 September 1, 2007 Announcements Obituaries (cont. from page 6) Obituaries Donna Carolyn Easely Donna Carolyn Easley, precious and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away August 3, 2007 at McKay Dee Hospital. Donna and Roy had Donna Easley retired in Eden, Utah, moving from Southern California in 2005. She was born July, 18, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to Bernard and Caroline Williams. She married Philip A. Jennings in 1957, and they were later divorced. She married Roy C. Easley August 21, 1983 in West Covina, California, and enjoyed a very special love affair for 24 years. Donna was a graduate of John Muir High School in Pasadena, California, and as Head Majorette, led the Junior Rose Bowl Parade in 1956. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Cal Poly Pomona University in 1978 as a Recreational Therapist, and spent 20 years working with patients housed in psychiatric hospitals. She was a giver filled with enthusiasm for life. She enjoyed tennis, golf, dancing, singing, travel, and most of all young children. Donna is survived by her husband Roy, her two sons Michael and Steven Jennings, and her two daughters Kathi and Lisa; three grandchildren, Michael, Destiny, and Adam. She is also survived by her stepsons Lance and Scott Easley, and their children Jacob, Ashley, and Daniel. Ellsworth, 43, passed away Monday, August 6, 2007. He was born October 21, 1963 in Ogden the son of Harold B. and Charlie Patricia Geiger Ellsworth. The love of his life was Velva Brumfield. Kelly was raised in Willard and resided in Salt Lake City. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He loved his art and music. Surviving are his son Danny Joe Ellsworth, Salt Lake City; daughter Melissa Ellsworth, Corinne; mother Charlie Higgins, South Jordan; father Harold Ellsworth, Pagosa Springs, CO; brother Michael Ray Parker, Ogden; sisters Cheryl Parker, Huntsville; and Michelle Ellsworth, South Jordan. He was precedKelly Ellsworth ed in death by his son Andrew, and grandson Jr. Leah. Graveside services were held Tuesday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clearfield City Cemetery. JaNet Nelson Watkins JaNet Nelson Watkins, 56, passed away August 10, 2007 in Spokane Valley, Washington. JaNet was born March 5, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rene and Ruth (Kruger) JaNet Watkins Nelson. She is survived by her husband Carlos Watkins; two daughters: JaNeese and (Evan) Thacker of Boston, MA; and MaLeesa and (John) Ibarra of Vancouver, WA; four grandchildren: Antonio, Ammon, Malachi, and Samuel; three brothers: Thomas Nelson, Kent Nelson, and Lee Nelson; three sisters: Nadine Bushman, Naomi Stephenson, and Marsha Weight. JaNet was preceded in death by her sister Jane Nelson. JaNet graduated from BYU in 1973 with a Degree in Nursing and married Carlos Watkins on September 14, 1973 in the Logan, Utah LDS temple. JaNet and her family lived in Liberty, Utah for several years before moving to Indianapolis, Indiana where she worked at the Indianapolis Women’s Hospital in the new born nursery. Recently JaNet moved to Otis Orchards, Washington. JaNet was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served faithfully for many years. Erma and George Staples Erma Shaw Staples Our beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, and friend, Erma Shaw Staples passed peacefully at her home, Tuesday, August 14, 2007 with her children by her side. She was born October 19, 1913, the second child to John Riley and Josephine Cottam Shaw. She married her sweetheart and eternal companion George Grant Staples in the Logan LDS Temple on July 20, 1933. Erma was happiest working side by side with her faithful husband for 60 years. Grant died July 30, 1993. Erma=s home was a reflection of her many talents. She loved working Amagic@ with her hands, and they were always busy: cooking, canning, sewing, decorating, cleaning, and crocheting. She could be found in the basement of her home in the fall and winter months making priceless quilts for her posterity. In the spring and summer months, working in her well kept yard and flower garden brought her great joy and pleasure. She made many friends while working in the cafeteria at the Valley Elementary School. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings. She enjoyed her calling with her husband in the Ogden LDS Temple as a temple worker. Erma is survived by her three children, Max G. (Gaye) Staples, Centerville; Connie (Tay) Merrill, Sandy; Dee R. (Margo) Staples, Layton; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Robert K. (Mary Lou) Shaw, Sacramento, California; four sisters, Beth (Sherman) Parker, St. George, Utah; Maxine Owens and Karen (Bruce) Blakley, both of Modesto, California; and Chryl (Carl) Markworth, Springville, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Riley; and sisters Venis Powell, Phyllis Tucker, and Marjorie Shaw. The family would like to thank the many neighbors, friends, and professional care givers who provided much love, comfort, and assistance in her times of need. Funeral service were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2007 at the Eden 2nd Ward, 2900 W. Hwy 162 with Bishop Brett Lewis officiating. Interment in the Eden Mt. View Cemetery.
