Obituaries B She will t Margaret Dena Opheikens Borger gden-Margaret Dena Opheikens Borger age 93, passed away June 5, 2006 at Wasatch Care Center. She was bom June 23, 1912 in Ogden, Utah, the eighth of nie child Dientje “Dena’’ Smit and Jans T. Opheikens. She was married to Siete Jack Borger on September 21, 1931 in Farmington. h. They were happily married until he passed away July 8, 1977. Ogden City Schools. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She attended the Ogden 16th Ward, Kanesville and Kanesville 2nd, and Ogden 84th Wards. Margaret resided in Harrisville, West Ogden, Kanesville, Ogden, and Taylor, Utah areas. t and husband Siete lived on a 40 acre farm in Kanesville, Utah. They worked together side by side on the farm. Margaret was a great cook; she fixed the meals for the farm laborers. They were a loving couple and parents. Margaret had a love of flowers. She had a huge garden. Students on R2SL’s first day were even treated to a unique experience as three-time world champion Freddie Spencer personally led a classroom session. Other celebrity riders on hand included Yamaha factory racers Eric Bostrom and Jason DiSalvo, Ducati factory rider Ben Bostrom, Team Green Kawasaki’s Jessica Deceased Zalusky, Jordan Suzuki’s Jason Pridmore, and former racer Vincent Haskovec who continues his recovery from career-ending injuries suffered in 2005. also. made contributions to the Roadracing World Action Fund and The Wegman Benefit Fund in Haskovec’s name to help further the cause of racer safety. “This is a world-class track,” said Eric Bostrom. “It’s very safe and a lot of fun. Also a great place to host this kind of event because of the versatile track configuration.” The Bostroms provided a few ucky participants the experience of lifetime with hour-long, one-on-one private coaching sessions that included exclusive use of MMP’s west track. Riders had earned the coaching sessions in a preevent online ae at <www.racing2savelives.org Riders at R2SL also had ti opportunity to bid in an on-site silent auction that included numerous motorcycle accessories and memorabilia. The silent auction alone raised more than $24,000 for R2SL charities. Founded in 2004, Racing 2 Save Lives is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children’s charities by raising awareness, involvement, and capital within the motorcycle racing community through donations, corporate sponsorship and fundraising events. Previous R2SL events were held at Second Creek Raceway near Denver, and Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colorado. All profits generated by Racing 2 Save Lives are distributed among carefully selected organizations that have a significant impact on the lives of children-in-need, and their families.
