V- eraiul - Jay L Smith, age 82, passed Feb. 13, 2001, in away Tuesday, Daniel. Bom May 16, 1918, irr Center Creek, the son of Leo Earl and Nancy Ella Shelton Smith. He attended school in Wasatch County. Married Virginia Marie Mortimore on July 22, 1952, in Provo, l.ater solemnized in the Salt Jjke 1 US Temple. She pre Jay ceded him in death on Jan. 9, 1974. Jay was a veteran on WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy, as a Radar Man Second Class. He was a life long resident on I feber Valley, and spent many years working in the mines in Park City. He was a member of the LDS Church and served in rruny capacities. I le loved his farm and family.
