M' J - iji;, W riler: Sarah Searle Both North Summit Girls Basketball Teams played lough against the Rowland Hall St. Marks Winged Lions, hut only one Lady Biases team was able to come out on top. The JV team won with a sci ire of 38-3Varsity had a hard loss with a score of 38-4The JV Braves had some equal competition. The first quarter's scoie didn't leave the single digits; the whole game was low scoring. In the final seconds, two timeouts were called with the score only four 38-3- 2 points apart. The final score was in favor of North Summit's Lady 2. 0. Hiaves. The Varsity Rowland Hall received the tip off but the Braves stole it away. The Braves made the first point of the night on a free throw shot. Both teams had intense defense and neither team could get their shots in. Malarie Richins made a great fast break to score a few for the Braves. It was a low scoring first quarter, only 3 lo 3. RHSM started the second quarter w ith a that bounced its way into the hasket. Both teams fought hard and couldn't help but continuously fowl one another. Gentry Sargent had a quick steal and fast break hut the Braves still remained behind. At the half, the 2 with the Lions score was defense. The scores remained within one shot of each other throughout the quarter. The Braves pulled the press many limes in an attempt to pull ahead of the Winged Lions. The game was intense and fast pace throughout the second half. The third quarter ended with a score in favor of the Braves 25-2The fourth quarter was filled with more free throws and quick passes along with jump balls. With only three minutes remaining in the game, the score remained tied at 3030. and both tganu were in the slightly holding the lead. The Braves had a quick rest and came in ready to outscore the Lions. Both teams continued with the lead. three-point- er 11-1- Lady Braves had a thieatening game against the Lions. Darrell Dearden has scored extremely well all year wilh his last test scoring a five. Live is the highest possible score He now holds the lead for all of the math team. C'oilan Fawcett and Brett Housley are also doing well with combined lest scores of fourteen and fifteen. There arc thirty-fou- r members on the math team this year and all are doing well.
