Dad would make a lire in the fireplace and Santa always came to our home on Christmas Eve before I went to bed. Dad then read the Christmas story from the Bible. I have always remembered the magical feeling of the evening and the love that was felt in our home for one another. I remember one Christmas getting a "walking doll" with wonderful clothes made by my Mom and my aunt, Edna. They Had made dresses, nightgowns, a wool coat, a straw hat I ,.a ir Summit County Board of Commissioners and Summit County Employees Extend and rubber boots with little tiny zippers in them. I also received a play cupboard and a cradle made by Arthur. I have kept them, and over the years they have been used by my daughter and are still being enjoyed by me, my niece and Best Wishes for the Holiday Season and the coming year! granddaughter. Now, we have made an addition in our home to have our children, grandchildren, our mothers, and my brother and his family over each Christmas Day for dinner. Instead of 3 as before, we now have 24. It is wonderful to get everyone together, eat, exchange gifts, and enjoy our family. My grandparents always put a huge 12 foot tree in their home and I would come home from college to decorate it. Even after I was married, my husband and I would go to their home to decorate. Grandpa cut a nick in the end of a yardstick and I would climb the ladder, place an icicle in that nick and place icicles on the tree one at a time. It has been several years since he passed away but in my mind I can still see my grandpa sitting in his recliner saying "You missed a spot over here, Sis". Those were great times. f Ml erry Christmas Warm holiday tidings to you and your families. Thanks for the trustyouve shown in us.
