The top vote getter was "Rudolph The Braves Win Battle With Rich Rebels North Summits Boys Basketball team is starting out the season with many victorious games. On Friday, Dec. 15, the North Summit Braves traveled to Randolph to play their second game against the Rebels this month. Because the Braves beat Rich at the Holiday Classic on Dec. 1, the Rebels were looking for . revenge. Both teams came out on the floor ready to play hard and win. Although Rich put up a good fight. North Summit carried the lead the entire game. Once again the Braves proved .their talent over the opponent and came away with a victory of 78 to 65. The Junior Varsity also had a victory over the Rebels with a score of 60 to 47. Congratulations team and keep up the good work! Braves Fought Hard Against Union ' able to score. In the end the Braves held off the Eagles by a score of 54 to 53. . V" ft What is your favorite fictional Christmas story? A survey of the third grade students at the North Summit Elementary said they liked the story, The Polar Express the best. Rudolph. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and The Night Before Christmas were also great favorites. Kameron Farrell said, "I liked the half-tim- Lynda Sliger, Carri Pia, Leah Adams, Travis Smith, Mason Gramley, Katie Madsen, Sandi Ovard, Robert Kanouff, Clark Richards and Dave Smith. ' Jess Pedroza did a good job at being the school director. He had ode of the main roles along with Lance Carlile. Nate Woodbury made us laugh when he had to "Go read the parking meter." The North Summit Boys Basketball Team traveled to Duchesne to play the; Eagles oh Thursday, Dec. 7. The Freshmen played a great game. The two teams changed leads many limes. The Freshman were up ten starting the fourth quarter, but the Eagles fought and clawed their way to take the lead by 4 and won the game by. The JV team took the floor ready to play. The Braves took an early lead and lost it as they struggled to keep pace with the hot shooting Eagles. The JV kept it close throughout the game, but were not ' able to piilF it off in the end, loos- -, i ing to a very' good team. The Varsity was ready to take reRyan Wilde venge and make up for the losses of. the JV and Freshmen. The Braves ' started off red-has Jeremey Shuman scored 10 points and grabbed S boards, as the Braves took an early 14 to 6 lead. The Freshman won their games; Eagles were not going to be out All of the teams had a huge vicdone as they took a 2 point lead tory. They did a really great job in half way through the second quarter, playing against Rowland Hall. but the Braves defense put a stop to Congratulations, and good luck in that. The offense took over taking a future games. e 6 point lead. The second half was very fast paced as the Eagles matched the Braves basket for basket. On Wednesday, Dec. 13, the boys basketball team traveled to Rowland Hall for their first region game of the year. This was Rowland Halls first region game in 2A competition. The second half ushered in a "pumped" Brave team led by some key three pointers by Wes Chappell. Jeremy Shuman and Cory Jones were getting it done down low. The Braves took a 5 point lead halfway through the fourth quarter. After a Union time out, the Cougars regrouped Braves. Longhorns and a 12 point win over the Rebels. Braves vs. Longhorns On Thursday, the North Summit Lady Braves played the Altamont Longhorns. The varsity played a close game throughout all four quarters. The ending score was 49-4- 7 for the Braves. The junior varsity started out slow, but came alive in the second quarter. After halftime they came back on the court, but were not' quite pumped P- - When starting the fourth quarter they came in ready' to win. The high scorers in the game were Meredith Richins with 18 points, Deena Willoughby scored 13 points, and Haley Sargent with 11 points. They lost with a struggle and a score of 65-6The Freshman played a good game with a tough defense. The high scorers were Millie Judd and Camille Fowles with 6 points each. The Longhorns wouldn't give up and came out with, the win, the score was 41-2- 4. 1. $ Braves Prevail in Wrestling Tri - Meef American Heart Association The North Summit Wrestling Team boarded the bus and took a trip to Rich to battle the Rich Rebels ' and the Altamont Longhorns in a District on Dec. 7. The Braves came out on top with a me point win over the Tri-Me- et .
